How to select paper for a box forming machine?

White Cardstock: White cardstock is sturdy and thick, with high stiffness and smoothness. The surface is flat, and the most common thicknesses range from 210 to 300 grams, with 250 grams being the most widely used. Products printed on white cardstock feature vibrant colors and an excellent texture, making it your top choice for custom orders.
Gray board: A type of paperboard with a smooth white front and a gray back. Common thicknesses range from 250 to 350 grams per square meter. It features one white side and one gray side, making it slightly more affordable than white cardstock.
Coated paper: Known for its exceptionally smooth, bright white surface with high gloss and excellent flatness, coated paper gives printed graphics and images a three-dimensional appearance. Common weights range from 128 g to 300 g. While it produces vibrant, rich colors similar to white cardstock, coated paper has lower rigidity compared to white cardstock.
White Kraft Paper: White kraft paper offers high burst strength, excellent toughness, and superior tensile strength. Its basis weight, thickness, and color remain consistent. In compliance with national regulations to control plastic pollution, eco-friendly paper bags are replacing plastic ones, driving strong market growth for white kraft paper. Made from 100% virgin wood pulp, it is non-toxic, environmentally friendly, and fully recyclable. With its high durability and no need for lamination, it is widely used for eco-friendly garment carry bags and premium shopping bags. Common weights range from 120 gsm to 200 gsm. As an uncoated paper without brightness or gloss, it is not suitable for printing designs with heavy ink coverage. Both domestic and imported white kraft paper are made from 100% virgin wood pulp; adding recycled waste prevents the paper from achieving a white finish. However, compared to other papers, white kraft paper is significantly more expensive, resulting in higher bag production costs. Natural Kraft Paper (Brown Kraft Paper): Brown kraft paper boasts high tensile strength and tear resistance, along with excellent burst energy and dynamic strength. Typically brownish-yellow in color, it is widely used for shopping bags and envelopes. Available in common weights from 120 gsm to 300 gsm, it is best suited for single-color, two-color, or simple-color print jobs. Compared to white cardstock, white kraft paper, and coated paper, brown kraft paper is the most cost-effective option.
Black cardstock: Known for its fine texture, deep solid black color throughout, firmness, and excellent fold resistance. It features a smooth, flat surface with high stiffness, tensile strength, and burst strength. Common thicknesses range from 120g to 350g. Since both sides are black, it cannot be printed with colorful designs but is ideal for foil stamping (gold/silver). The resulting bags are stunning.
